What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a record of the energy performance of a building. The energy efficiency rating is based on a scale of A to G, with A being the most efficient, and G the least efficient.

An EPC provides potential purchasers of a property with information regarding its energy performance, along with recommendations on possible improvements to increase the certification level.

The EPC is accompanied by a Recommendation Report highlighting ways in which the energy performance of the building can be improved, and the potential impact if  recommendations are implemented.
